I have been writing since I first learned how to read and discovered that I, too, could make things up. I am completely aware that this type of thinking is based upon the assumption that there are perpetual readers who will read anything.

In the beginning, ages 5-12, all of my stories were about animals, most of which could talk, in all kinds of crazy situations. Later, as a teenager, I wrote about my own animals, no longer fiction. My college years centered again on short fiction, but the ideas were taken directly from my own experiences and, even though I sent them off in the guise of short stories, they were about my life.

I have now given up the pretext of writing short stories and simply write about what I do, who I am, and, unfortunately for my family and friends, who I live with and know well.

Below are various short stories and creative non-fiction pieces. "Naked" is my current project. It is a detailed account of my effort to not only lose 60 pounds but to become a runner. This story covers three years of my life through multiple surgeries and sudden menopause. It is a work in progress, and I welcome all responses.
